Helping young people and organisations to equip the next generation
Our Story
Hidden Power was founded by Andrew and Faith Dutton, shaped by decades of working with young people across the globe. Their journey includes supporting youth in detention, partnering with families of at-risk youth, and working alongside schools, workplaces, and organisations that serve vulnerable young people. Now based in Brisbane, Australia, Andrew and Faith continue to support local and international initiatives focused on youth development and empowerment.​

But Hidden Power is also deeply personal.

The name and mission are inspired by the life and legacy of their son, Michael, who passed away at the age of 20. Michael’s journey was marked by struggle—living on the streets, battling addiction, mental health challenges, learning difficulties, and involvement with the justice system. Yet his life also radiated courage, resilience, and a deep desire to help others walking a similar path.
Before his passing, Michael had begun dreaming of ways to use his story to support others. The brand Hidden Power was and idea between Andrew and him—a vision born from his pain, but fueled by hope.
Tragically, Michael died from in an accident related to complications related to medications prescribed for his mental health challenges. His story, though heartbreaking, continues to impact lives through the mission of Hidden Power.
Through this work, Andrew and Faith carry forward Michael’s vision: to reveal the hidden power in every young person, no matter their past.
